How does it feel to be recognized by your colleagues and what was your secret to success this month?
It is honestly such a great feeling to be recognised as MVP this month, a little unexpected due to my short time with the company so far, but the best kind of shock. The main thing that has helped me so far, is learning at every point and using the amazing people I’m surrounded by to help me!
This is your first Recruitment role, you’ve had a fantastic start! How are you finding life at Planet so far?
Thank you, that’s very kind. I’m loving life at Planet Pharma so far. I genuinely look forward to coming into the office every day and it has become a bit of a second home, and being surrounded by so many kind and helpful but extremely talented people has been a huge advantage while I learn the ropes.
What motivated you to pursue a career in recruitment?
After finishing my scientific degree, I was initially unsure of what career I wanted, after deciding against a lab-based career during my degree. The ability to have a people-focused role that is goal based, and where two days are never the same, was the strongest pull into this industry, and I’m glad it was because I have enjoyed it even more than expected since I joined.
If you could give any advice to someone considering a career in Recruitment, what would it be?
To try and find out as much information as possible, and see how that aligns with yourself, speak to recruiters and find out their journeys, and finally don’t be afraid to make mistakes, the important thing is to learn from each one.
What’s one thing you’d like for potential candidates and clients to know about Planet Pharma?
That Planet Pharma is a special company that combines experience and talent at recruitment, but also has the human touch and provides great service on a personal level too which gives an efficient, quality and friendly service.
What would you say is unique about our culture here?
Everyone here is so friendly, and you will find reasons to laugh and smile every day in the office. Everyone is also willing to talk and help, and you are able to speak to anyone in the company, however senior, and they will listen and take the time to explain and mentor you. As someone very new to the industry, I find this invaluable and has helped me so much already.
Tell us more about you. Do you have any hobbies or hidden talents?
I’m unfortunately light on the hidden talent front but hobbies wise, I do love spending time with friends, and enjoy going to a musical or football match too, including following my hometown team Grimsby who unfortunately haven’t been too successful recently.
If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?
New York – I would love the chance to visit all the incredible landmarks that are there, like Times Square, go see a Broadway show or go see a basketball or American football game
If you could pick any superpower, what would it be and why?
Telekinesis – it would be very useful when feeling tired or lazy and also quite funny to be able to move items with the power of your mind.
Finally, what do you think makes an MVP at Planet Pharma?
I think that what makes an MVP at Planet Pharma is using all the information and advice that is given and putting the work in, to gain results from this, and when this all aligns this can lead to successful applications and deals.
